I have a love for playing Texas Holdem. It cost me some money but its worth it to have the mans night out. When I first started playing with the guys I play with now I made some dumb moves. I did this on purpose to give them the idea that I didn't know what I was doing. It worked that night and I pulled a third place and pocketed $200. Now that I have been playing for a while they know that Im a decent player. Most nights if I dont make the final table it is because I have been beat by a gut shot or pure luck. I did notice the other night that most players would fold if I raised because they know I only play good cards. So the bluffing started. It helped me build back up my stack some. I finished 3rd and pocketed $300 that night. All three of us went all in with pairs. I lost to one guy but beat the other. So anyway just wanted to share the one thing that I enjoy. On an exciting note I have a Vegas trip planed now with the guys I play with. It will be during the WSOP finals if I am not mistaken. They mostly party there so I will be excited to get out and drink. Always a good time in Vegas.

And they are?????

A boy and a girl. I could tell you 20 things I did wrong on this cake but for my first time making a fondant cake I was happy. I was pushed for time and was not able to do any piping which I'm sure was a good thing. Having my sister and brother in law trust me with this bit of info and the first to find out was a real treat. I had some one tell me the other day we had come so far. If you knew the history of my sister and I you would understand. So yes I will be an uncle twice. One quick funny story my baby girl was talking to my sister and asked why was the boy on that side. My sister replied and said it was because God put him there. She looked up at her as serious as she could be and said "no, Fox (brother in law nick name) put them there." So I ask this question. Is 3 years old to young to learn about the birds and the bees? Just thought it was funny.

So many things so little time.

So I have been great. Working, spending time with my kids and a little bit of poker play when I can. I have made several changes around in the past little while. For one, I no longer have TV/cable/satellite. When the wife and I split it was an expense that was not needed. Every one gives me a dumb founded look when I say I don't have TV. I quit watching the news probably over a year ago, I figured I had enough things going on in my life to not be brought down by news. Ask your self this. When was the last time you heard anything inspirational or encouraging on the news? So when then the TV was gone it was fine. Even the kids don't mention it anymore. We keep busy with other things. Another change I have had is reading. I have read more this year than in my whole life. Yes I know Harry Potter is not an educational series of books but they are great books. I'm on my last one and taking it slow because my sister told me once its over that's it there are no more :(. I do have a few books already on my kindle to read after that though. One is called Stepping Up a guide to father hood or something like that. Any way, at the mention of my sister, I am so excited to announce she is pregnant with twins. Yes you can pick yourself up off the floor. It is true. And I the big brother I am, and the one she trust, has been given the right to know the sex of both babies first and to make the reveal cake for her party. I'm so excited and scared. I plan on a 2 tier white fondant cake with pink and blue trim. I should have a picture of it to post here for all the see. With work I'm still in the new location. I'm surviving and adjusting to this change. Its growing on me. We are closer to the beach and the other morning we set a house with the slight smell of salt in the air. It was a great day and a good day. To all my blog friends I hope you are all well. I have been checking on your blogs just not been logging in to post. I just take quick sneaks when I can.

FAILURE!!!!

It is hard to admit when you fail. But you have to suck it up and deal. There is no way to hide my failure on this. I took over management of a sales lot on NOV 1 2012. I actually came from airport straight to work. It was my first day back from Vegas. I was excited and nervous. Had a lot of good ideas and thoughts. I worked it pretty hard. Freshened my office and grounds. Ran new ads. Had a smile on my face. And the business was coming in. It was a little slow but there was some traffic. Well deal by deal we picked up we lost. I know why. I was not as educated in the sales end of things like I am in the service end of things. I could have used some training but was also busy trying to help the other store on there service end of things. Among running this store I was still the field manager on the construction. So I was only in the office maybe 3 days a week if that. I had a good sales man but he needed a little guidance on some things and I was not the best one at times. We tried to learn some from the other store but they just wanted to do the job and not teach us on what they did. So I can make excuses all day long but it comes down to this. I picked up about 5 deals and lost them all for various reasons. Since Nov we have not sold a house. My store got the ax on Tuesday. I am working tomorrow in hopes of maybe picking up a deal to carry with me to the other store but I am really low. The hardest thing for me is my fried "amigo" he has lost his job. It hurts me to know I have been part of the reason some one is unemployed. Every one says its a hard time to sell homes and to not take all the blame. I do agree I could have used some more education on things but reality of it all is I failed. I did not uphold my end of what a manager is responsible to do. It sucks so bad. I will be going back to the other office to head up the service issues and be the field contractor again. I am at a very low spot though. A good friend of mine has helped me with things. Actually I have had several friends make me see the good side of things. All I know is I am in a change and I have to look at it as good. I hope all my blog friends are well.

Just a catch up

After reading my blog I see that a lot of things changed but I did not share them with you. I never went fishing. Hurricane Sandy stopped that. I booked a trip to Las Vegas. I had fun but lost my ass at the poker table. It come form a little inexperience and just being nervous and drunk. Since then I have played a few tournaments and placed 2nd and 3rd. So I know what I am doing it all depends on how the cards fall and if I stay off the bottle. I do have to say I love the town of Las Vegas and would move there if I didn't have my 2 precious little girls here. Me and the wife, x wife, separated wife, what ever you call her and my girls went to the Bahamas on a Disney cruise. I do have to say that Nassau is not a family friendly place. We went on a glass bottom boat tour and the ladies went back to the boat. I took off on a trek to the fish fry. Its really just a bunch of small run down looking redcurrants that serve food and beer. Me and my culinary adventures had to try it. So I did. I had conch fritters and a conch salad made fresh in front of me. Also try the Kalik and Sands beer both local to the island. I have to say that I walked a lot because ever taxi driver that asked if I needed a ride also asked if wanted blow, smoke, hash, weed. I decided that walking the mile or longer back was not to bad of an idea. The only thing I wish I would have done is by some Cuban cigars, I know they are not allowed in the US but customs was a big joke. I could have snuck in a person lol. The next day was on Disney private island which was fun we had a bbq and me and my oldest daughter went swimming with the stingrays. Most things where for 5 and over so not to much for my youngest girl to do. I think if she would have been older it would have been a little more fun for her. But over all it was good. I am now managing one of our sales lots. It is a lot of stress cause business is slow but it is my job to create business and sales. I'm stumbling forward and should survive. Honestly I think my boss aka my dad is going to move me back to the other sales lot to take care of the service issues there. Either way as long as I can keep a job I guess I will be okay. I like the town I am in now and do not like the other town where the other store is but will do what is best for the company. My Christmas was great. My kids got so much shit it is ridiculous but hey that's how it goes. I hope every ones Christmas was great and you have a Happy New Year. And a grand WELCOME BACK to Bob (http://papawatson.blogspot.com/) Bob I know you have a hard long road in front of you but welcome back it is great to see you post. I hope to see many more.
